Luke Lemmerman, a PhD student in the Nanomedicine Lab, has successfully defended his thesis on fibroblast reprogramming.
Luke Lemmerman, a PhD student in the Gallego-Perez Nanomedicine Lab, successfully defended his thesis on Friday, June 24. Luke's thesis focused on using DNA molecules to reprogram fibroblasts for therapeutic purposes in stroke and type I diabetes. Luke was a graduate mentee of Dr. Gallego-Perez from 2019 to 2022. His committee consisted of Drs. Natalia Higuita-Castro, PhD and Heather Powell, PhD of the Department of Biomedical Engineering, as well as Dr. Cynthia Gerhardt of Psychology and the College of Medicine.
